We’re excited to welcome Business Development powerhouse and crypto veteran Amit Patel to Origin’s core team!
Taking the helm as Origin Story’s Head of Business Development, Amit has big plans to grow the platform, armed with over 15 years of experience growing major Silicon Valley startups.
As Lyft’s 7th employee, Amit played a crucial role in building the company from the ground up. Lyft’s co-founders John and Logan often went to Amit to test experimental projects. After leading these projects for several years, Amit founded the company’s b2b arm Lyft Business which now drives over $1B in annual revenue.
Under his leadership, his team solidified corporate partnerships with F500 companies including Delta, Apple, McKinsey, and Facebook. Additionally, he secured strategic partnerships with the top ten US health plans in an effort to provide safe and reliable transport for eligible patients.
A true crypto veteran, Amit has been investing in the space since 2013. His passion for blockchain is driven by Web3’s vast potential to disrupt traditional industries across the spectrum.
As he explains, “I’m most excited about the intersection of web3 and other industries including healthcare, real estate, music, and travel. There are so many potential applications that it is fascinating to think where the world will be in 5-10 years. As a team, we’re lucky to be in a position to be part of that journey…hopefully a big part!”
On joining Origin, Amit was drawn to the team’s wealth of expertise and culture.

A thrill seeker at heart (in true Crypto OG fashion), Amit is constantly pushing the boundaries of endurance. Besides scaling Kilimanjaro, he’s biked across Uruguay in six days, and competed in club soccer tournaments in seven countries.
